Julian King presented the first annual Curtis Mayfield scholarship

At this year's 47th annual Songwriters Hall of Fame gala, Philadelphia native Julian King was presented the first annual Curtis Mayfield scholarship for an up and coming songwriter. Among the honored also were Tom Petty, Lionel Richie, Elvis Costello, Nick Jonas and Chip Taylor (brother of actor Jon Voight and writer of “Wild Thing”). Featured performers included Jennifer Hudson.
